Delete Your BarkShare Account

BarkShare lets you delete your account and associated personal data at any time. You can start deletion in the app (recommended) or request help by email if you no longer have the app installed.

Delete in the BarkShare app

1. Open the BarkShare app and sign in.
2. Go to Settings (gear icon during onboarding, or from your profile).
3. Tap Delete Account.
4. Type DELETE to confirm.
5. Re-authenticate if prompted (password or Google sign-in).

Deletion starts immediately. You will be signed out when it completes.

Request deletion by email

If you cannot access the app, email privacy@barkshare.dog from the address linked to your BarkShare account. Include the subject line Account deletion request. We will verify ownership and delete your account within 30 days (usually much sooner).

What we delete

• Your profile, photos, and bio
• Dog profiles and photos
• Posts, comments, and likes
• Matches and pack memberships
• Direct and group chat messages you sent
• Uploaded images stored for your account
• Stored location data tied to your account

What may be retained briefly

Some limited records may remain for a short period in encrypted backups, product analytics logs, or third-party error-reporting systems (Sentry, Firebase Crashlytics) before routine retention expires. Content you shared in group conversations may no longer be attributed to you after deletion. We do not retain your account for marketing after deletion.
